Ingrid Chua-Go is a Filipino-Chinese fashion and lifestyle blogger based in Manila, Philippines. She is known for her fashion blog The Bag Hag Diaries and has a television show of which she is the host, that airs on Star World, a division of Fox International Channels, with the same name. She blogs for The Huffington Post-UK and writes a column for the Philippine Daily Inquirer. She has also been contracted to write stories for brands like Ermenegildo Zegna, as well as for online retailers Luisa Via Roma and Harrods of London. She has likewise written for publications like South China Morning Post, Philippine Tatler Traveller, and Lifestyle Asia.

Biography

Early years

Ingrid Chua-Go is the daughter of Benjamin Chua, Jr. and Pacita Ong Chua. When she was a child, her mother gave her a Tomy typewriter, which sparked her fascination with writing. This interest was further stimulated by her father during the summers that they would spend in San Francisco. He would assign her books to read over the vacation and required her to write book reports on each one. This developed her writing proficiency at an early age and she considers her father a great influence on her chosen profession.

Career

After graduating from Saint Mary's College with a bachelor's degree in communication arts, Chua-Go worked in broadcast news in Hong Kong, before becoming the managing editor of Metro Weddings Magazine, a top bridal publication in the Philippines. After she left Metro Weddings in 2007, she started blogging full-time.

The Bag Hag Diaries

In 2005, Ingrid Chua-Go started a personal blog to answer a personal question of whether she should buy either a Louis Vuitton bag or a couch for her home. The blog’s main purpose was for her friends to help her decide, but after a number of responses from both friends and other readers, it evolved into The Bag Hag Diaries where bag enthusiasts come to for information regarding the newest trends in bag fashion. The blog has gathered an international following in the world of fashion in Europe, Asia, and the United States.

The Bag Hag Diaries features Chua-Go's commentaries on the latest bag fashions, trends, and styles. Since its inception, it has expanded to include other fashion items like clothes, footwear, and accessories to appeal to a diverse array of interests and readers. The blog also includes some of her collaborations with different fashion houses, institutions, and personalities.

Other publications

Chua-Go has been a photoblogger/contributor for the Facebook page of Harrods of London, and was a regular contributor for online fashion retail store Luisaviaroma.com. She blogs about fashion for The Huffington Post-UK and writes a column for the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Accessory Lab

Chua-Go is a co-owner and Managing Director of The Accessory Lab, a retail establishment that showcases collections of semi-precious jewelry and accessories from Asian artists as well as pieces from other designers across the globe. Some of the designers featured by the store include Daphne Oseña-Paez, and crystals enthusiast Rodina Chua. The store carries a large collection of raw semi-precious stones and crystals. The store is located at the Rockwell Power Plant Mall in Makati City.

International collaborations

Ingrid Chua-Go has worked with a number of international fashion houses. She collaborated with Dolce & Gabbana for Milan Fashion Week, along with five other international fashion bloggers, interpreting the Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2011-2012 collection based on own her own style for the windows of the flagship store of the brand in Milan. She blogged at Paris Fashion Week 2012 at the invitation of online luxury retailer Luisa Via Roma, and collaborated with them for their Firenze4Ever Style Lab campaign. She has also worked on projects with Ermenegildo Zegna, Gucci, Furla, and Roberto Cavalli among others
