Biography

Ian Pope (born 1962) is an Olympic and national swimming coach from Australia. As of 2010, he is the head coach of Melbourne Vicentre Swimming Club in Melbourne. He served on Australian Olympic coaching staffs in 2000 and 2008.

Some of his past swimmers include Michael Klim, Matt Welsh, Grant Hackett, Brett Hawke, Giaan Rooney and Patrick Murphy.

He has been named Victorian Swimming Coach of the Year nine times and Australia's overall Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2004.
