Biography
Henry Fleetwood (c. 1667 – 22 May 1746) was an English soldier and Tory politician.
He was the oldest son of Arthur Fleetwood of Lichfield in Staffordshire and St. Margaret’s, Westminster, who was secretary to the Earl of Danby. He was a cousin of Sir Christopher Musgrave, 5th Baronet.
Educated at Brasenose College, Oxford, Fleetwood joined the English Army in 1685 as an Ensign in the 7th Foot, rising to second lieutenant in 1687, and lieutenant in 1688.
In 1704 he inherited estates near Preston from his cousin Edward Fleetwood MP, and served as a Member of Parliament for Preston from 1708 to 1722.
