Biography
Günther Höller was a well-known German Classical musician and university music professor.
Early life and education
Höller was born on 30 April 1937. He studied music from Gustav Scheck at the Freiburg University of Music.
Career
From 1964 to 1972, he was a teacher at the Rheinische Musikschule, a music school in Cologne, Germany.
From 1972 onwards, he was a Professor at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (The Cologne University of Music) in Cologne, Germany.
In 1967, Höller founded the Concert Series Musik Alter Meister with Werner Garthe. At the 46th concert in 2012, Höller handed over the long-term management to Professor Harald Hoeren, who at that time was regular a member of the ensemble.
He played music with the German Baroque Soloists, the Cappella Coloniensis and the Collegium Aureum.
His work has attracted international attention, and has inspired numerous musicians and music lovers.
He has trained numerous musicians, such as Patrick Peire, Norbert Rodenkirchen, Lucia Mense, Eva Biallas, Konrad Hirnteter, Carin van Heerden, Gudrun Heyens, Dorothee Oberlin, Ursula Schmidt-Laukamp, Michael Schneider, Nadja Schubert Matthias Friederich, Marion Valerius, Angela Hug, Silke Evers, Ulrike Erdtmann, Marion Michels, Martin Burkhardt, Michael Form, Nadja Schubert, Ante Manha, Elisabeth Charlotte Barden, Christiane Martini, Martin Sandhoff, Veronika Ursula Meyer, Eva Maria Schiffer, Andreas Bohlen Daniel Rothert, Katja Beisch, and Wolfgang Dey.
