Biography
Entrepreneur and Global Growth founder Greg Lindberg grew up as the youngest of five children, in San Mateo, CA. He studied at Yale University, where he graduated in 1993 with a degree in economics. While attending Yale in 1991 he started a newsletter on compliance and reimbursement for agencies in the home healthcare industry. He later transformed this business into Eli Global, which was based in North Carolina and operated as a private equity firm.
In 2014 the company made its first acquisition in the insurance space by purchasing an Alabama-based burial policy insurer. The goal Greg Lindberg had set was to loan out the insurer's assets to other businesses. Since that was restricted in Alabama he moved the insurer to North Carolina and began the loan process. His efforts turned Eli Global into a multi-million dollar company as he acquired more insurers. He bought underperforming or failing companies and transformed them into successful businesses.
Trapped by unusual circumstances beyond his control, Greg Lindberg was convicted of bribery in 2020. In July 2022 his conviction was overturned by the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Even though he had spent nearly two years away from his family, he had used that time to continue helping others. He worked in the prison library and as a janitor, and he taught entrepreneurship and business classes to other prisoners, so they had the skills and tools they would need when released.
After his conviction was overturned, Greg Lindberg sought to fight for change. He founded a nonprofit based on battling corruption in the government and ensuring fairness in sentencing guidelines. Offering access to justice and supporting reentry needs for prisoners are also goals of the nonprofit. Greg Lindberg continues to look for ways to change the status quo and help people succeed in his personal and professional life.
