Glenn McMillan

Glenn Aguiar McMillan (born 5 October 1984) is a Brazilian Australian actor and lawyer. He is perhaps best known for his acting roles as Dustin Brooks in Power Rangers Ninja Stormand Carlos dos Santos in "Wonderland".

McMillan was born in São João da Boa Vista, São Paulo, Brazil. The town is the birthplace of his mother, and the place where his parents met when his father was posted there as an exchange student at the age of 17. His father had begun studying medicine in Australia, but both his parents formed a career in business and real estate. His mother is a musician who plays piano, guitar and accordion. He has two older sisters. The McMillan family moved to Adelaide, Australia, when he was four years old. McMillan remains strongly connected to his Brazilian heritage, speaks fluent Portuguese, and revisits his birthplace often.

McMillan developed a passion for acting at a young age when his parents enrolled him in after school classes. His first professional acting role was at age 11, in a State Theatre Company of South Australia production of Six Characters in Search of an Author, by Luigi Pirandello, playing the role of the "Young Boy". McMillan has said that while he enjoyed performing on a professional stage at this young age, he found it quite traumatic playing a character who commits suicide at the end of the play for the many running weeks of the production.

McMillan attended Linden Park Primary School and then Pembroke School where he was school prefect. In 1998, while still at school and receiving on-set tutoring, he played the part of "Ben Handleman" in his first feature film, Sally Marshall Is Not an Alien, followed by the role of "Tiny Maloney" in the television series, 'Chuck Finn' for Seven Network in 1999. McMillan enrolled in a three-year course for performers after school where he took vocal, movement and acting training. He also performed in numerous school productions, including playing the role of "Jack" in Into the Woods, by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim, and "Vyasa" in an adaptation of the Mahabharata, for which he was awarded a 100% grade in his final year state assessment. McMillan had become heavily involved in music during this time and played saxophone and bass in various school ensembles, including playing on stage with Australian jazz legends James Morrison and Don Burrows. In 2002, a few months prior to completing his high school education, McMillan was offered the role of "Dustin Brooks" in Power Rangers Ninja Storm. He completed his final year exams in New Zealand, where the production took place. Following Power Rangers Ninja Storm, McMillan moved to Los Angeles and soon landed the role of "Bronley Hale" role in Zenon: Z3 for Disney Channel, filmed on location in South Africa. He then returned to New Zealand to film Power Rangers Dino Thunder.

In 2004, McMillan chose to take time away from acting to further his education. He was awarded a scholarship to study at Bond University, but returned instead to Adelaide to study law at the University of Adelaide Law School and to be with his family. He had considered studying jazz at the University's conservatorium of music. McMillan undertook his third year of study at Pace University School of Law in White Plains, New York, where he began focusing his legal education in Entertainment Law, Media Law, and Intellectual Property. In 2008, McMillan graduated with Honours from the Adelaide University and undertook his legal clerkship with the firm Kelly & Co. He completed his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the College of Law, Sydney, and was admitted to the roll of Australian Lawyers in 2009. McMillan accepted a position in London with the law firm Carter-Ruck, specialising in media litigation, and completed his exams for qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales.

In 2012, McMillan played a role in the Australian thriller feature film Swerve (film), starring Jason Clarke (actor), followed by the role of "Adauto Agallo" in the award-winning miniseries Mrs Biggs. From 2013 to 2015 he filmed the Australian television drama Wonderland for Network Ten, in which he plays Brazilian student, "Carlos dos Santos". The character was originally written as an Argentinean, however given his familiarity with the Brazilian accent, McMillan suggested changing the character's nationality and gave him the name "dos Santos" in honour of his grandfather. He completed his Master of Laws majoring in Commercial Litigation in 2015.

McMillan lives in Sydney, Australia. McMillan trains and competes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, having begun training in London under former world champion, Roger Gracie, and is currently a blue belt.
