Gleb Fetisov achieved outstanding academic results at all levels of his education. He graduated from high school with a gold medal. In 1988 he graduated with honors from the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University, and then graduated from the faculty postgraduate study. In 1995, Fetisov finished the Finance Academy.
Two years after graduating from the university, Fetisov held the post of Senior Researcher at the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute, a famous scientific center. In 1998 he defended his thesis in the specialty "Finance, money circulation and credit". In 2003 he defended his doctoral dissertation "Stability of the banking system and methodology for its assessment."
In 2008 he was elected a Corresponding Member of the RAS. From 2003 to 2010 -
Head of the Department of Macroeconomic Regulation and Planning, Faculty of
Economics, Moscow State University. In 2007, the Higher Attestation Commission
awarded Gleb Fetisov the academic title of professor.
Entrepreneurship and production
Gleb Fetisov was a shareholder of the large investment structures VimpelCom and Altimo. Since 2013, Fetisov has been involved in film production: he was a founder and general producer of Fetisoff Illusion. The company's projects include films from different
countries, including the comedy Chef (2014) directed by Jon Favreau with the participation of such stars as Robert Downey Jr., Dustin Hoffman, Scarlett Johansson.
Producer of the film Loveless (2017) directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev. This movie collected many prestigious awards - the jury prize of the Cannes Film Festival, the Grand Prix of the International Film Festival in Munich, the Grand Prix of the 61st London International Film Festival, the Cesar Prize for the best foreign film. In 2018, Loveless (2017) received an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. General producer of Sobibor (2018) directed by Konstantin Khabensky.
In March 2018, Gleb Gennadievich Fetisov was elected an academician of the National Academy of Cinematic Arts. Member of the Producers Guild of America.
Fetisoff Illusion is a partner of the Moscow International Film Festival and the Golden Eagle National Film Awards. In 2017, Fetisoff Illusion acted as the trustee of the prestigious Russian Booker literary prize.
In 2019, Gleb Fetisov established the Fetisov Journalism Awards with a prize fund of 520,000 Swiss francs. The goals of the award are to support journalists in their mission to promote human values, to popularize modern journalism as a unique profession that is
able to change the lives of people, individual communities and the world as a whole. The contest consists of four nominations: Contribution to Peace, Contribution to Civil Rights, Investigative Journalism and Environmental Journalism.
The first Fetisov Journalism Awards ceremony took place in January 2020 in Lucerne, the second ceremony was held in April 2021 in Zurich (Switzerland).

Gleb Fetisov is a candidate for master of sports in sailing and chess. He is married with three children.
