Biography

Evdokiya Alekseevna Germanova (Russian: Евдокия Алексеевна Германова; born 8 November 1959) is a Russian film and stage actress.

Career

Germanova graduated from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts in 1986 (acting course of Oleg Tabakov and Avangard Leontyev). One year later she joined the theater studio of Oleg Tabakov. She played in the performances of the Moscow Art Theatre as well as independent theater projects.

Germanova debuted in film in 1975. She rose to popularity as a distinctive character actress in comedy. Germanova played more than seventy roles in film and television and won many awards at film festivals.

She is the head of the workshop of the theater faculty at the Moscow Institute of Television and Radio, "Ostankino".

Personal life

She married and divorced Sergei Herman without public controversies. For some time she raised an orphan named Kolya, but ended up returning him to the orphanage, citing inappropriate physical attacks as the reason.

She is the sister of actress Lyubov Germanova.
