Biography
Eileen McDonough (May 20, 1962 – March 13, 2012) was an American former stage, film, and television child actress active in the 1970s. She is known for her roles in The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1975), The Magical World of Disney (1976), and The Waltons (1976-1977). She was a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
Life and career
Eileen McDonough was born on May 20, 1962, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Joe and Loretta McDonough. She had a sister, Elena.
McDonough made her acting debut in 1974, at the age of 11, with a minor role in director Charles Martin's comedy How to Seduce a Woman. The following year, she made her first television appearance as "Dory Brian" in the "The Outing" episode of TV series Apple's Way. In 1975, she was also seen portraying the character of "Ellen Slaughter" in The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
In the same period she was seen in three television movies: Returning Home(1975), Eric (1975), and The Whiz Kid and the Carnival Caper (1976). In 1976, she was seen as "Stephie" in two episodes of Walt Disney's The Magical World of Disney.
McDonough's last credits on the silver screen were as "Patsy Brimmer" in two episodes of Earl Hamner Jr.'s TV family drama series The Waltons, after which she retired from acting.
Death
Eileen McDonough died on March 13, 2012, (aged 49,) in Van Nuys, California.
