McLaughlin is a California-native from Woodland Hills and currently lives in Los Angeles. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University.
Career
McLaughlin made his acting debut in 1999 with a small role of a young agent in "Tithonus" episode of the television series The X-Files. The same year he was cast as Todd in four episodes of the television series Undressed.
He made his film debut in 2003 as detective Carl McBride in Stephen Baldwin and Nicollette Sheridan starrer action-adventure film, Lost Treasure. In 2007, he was seen regularly as Luke Bowen in 7 episodes of Women's Murder Club.
Currently, since 2018, he regularly appears as Shiloh, or David Henry 'Hank' Archer, alongside Maurice Benard, Steve Burton and Laura Wright in the TV series General Hospital.
Besides being an actor, he is also an amateur singer.
