Brandon Weaver (born 2000) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He currently competes in the Nascar Late Model Series, driving the No, 15 Weaver Racing Racecar Factory late model for Wilson Motorsports.
Early life
Weaver was born as Brandon Michael Weaver on 23 June 2000 in Bakersfield, California. He was inspired to race cars at the age of five after he saw his cousins race at local karting tracks.
He began racing kid karts with the International Karting Federation (IKF) and frequently raced at his hometown track with the Bakersfield Kart Club.
Racing career
In the years 2007-2008, Weaver finished 2nd and 3rd place in Region 7 and 11, at the IFK Kid Karts. He earned a podium finish in the Grand Nationals, and also qualified on the pole for the California State Championships.
In 2009, Weaver moved up to IKF's Cadet Class where he claimed 7 victories and was named Bakersfield Kart Club’s Track Champion.
Following the success at IKF, Weaver began competing in the INEX Bandolero Series. In 2010, he scored 2 victories, and 17 top-5 finishes.
In 2011, at the age of 11, he won the 2011 California Bandolero State Championship and was placed third in the US for Bandolero National Championship. He claimed 16 victories and 23 top-5 finishes.
In 2012, he continued to race in the Bandolero series, and in addition, the Legends races. He was placed 5th in his first Legend Race. The following year, in 2013, he earned 13 top-5 finishes in the Legends car. In the 2014 US Legends Car, he competed in 27 races and scored 26 Top-5 finishes.
In 2016, he drove a LoanMart Late Model series stock car, and qualified for pole position at his first start in 2016 at Stockton 99 Speedway.
2017 was his first year to race in the late model series full time, and he won his second time in the car. He competed in 12 races, with 1 win and 11 top-5 finishes, taking the "Rookie of the Year" crown.
