Biography
Babatunde Olaare Gbadamosi is a Nigerian businessman and politician. He was the Action Democratic Party Governorship candidate in the 2019 Lagos State Gubernatorial Election.
Early life and education
Gbadamosi was born in England, United Kingdom. He returned to Nigeria after his birth and spent his childhood in Ikorodu where he was schooled. He attended Government College Eric Moore Road, Goverment College Victoria Island and Government College Ikorodu. He enrolled at the Lagos State University to study law between 1986-1989. He didn't complete his academic program as he traveled out of the country. He returned to the United Kingdom in his twenties.
Business career
Gbadamosi is the owner of Redbricks Homes International limited,a property development company in Lagos. He is also the chairman of Amen Estates in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos. He is the secretary of the National Intervention Movement, (NIM) Lagos.
Political career
In the 2011 Lagos State gubernatorial election, Gbadamosi contested the election for Governor of Lagos State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party and lost to Babatunde Fashola. He also contested the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party in 2015 which he lost to Jimi Agbaje. He was the Action Democratic Party Governorship candidate in the 9 March 2019 Lagos State Governorship election, he lost to Babajide Sanwo-Olu. On 22 February 2020, He moved from the Action Democratic Party back to the Peoples Democratic Party.
