Biography
Andrew Herrera is the founder of Remezcla, one of the most influential media companies focused on Latino Millennials. Andrew started Remezcla in 2006 with a group of friends, after they saw a need to tell stories about Latin culture that weren’t being covered or supported by traditional media. Soon, it grew into a grassroots movement that would document and celebrate emerging Latin culture through content and events in major cities throughout the U.S. and Latin America.
Today, Remezcla is the only successful independent Latino media company started by Latino creatives, and it is widely recognized as a thought leader around Latino Millennial lifestyle and cultural trends. Remezcla has worked with leading brands such as PepsiCo, Heineken, Pernod Ricard, Samsung, helping them connect with Latino millennials in an authentic way. This work has been recognized with multiple marketing awards, including the Webbys, Clios, ANA Reggie Award, Event Marketer Ex Award, and BizBash Award
Andrew is considered a leading expert on Latino youth and culture, he sits on the Board of the City of New York’s Latin Media & Entertainment Commission, Anheuser Busch Inbev Marketing Council. Prior to founding Remezcla, he worked in investment banking for 8 years. Andrew was born and raised in Queens, NY and is of Ecuadorian descent.
