Biography

Andrea Anastasi (born October 8, 1960) is a former Italian volleyball player, 1990 World Champion, 1989 European Championship, gold medalist of the 1990 World League and 1991 World League, head coach of Polish club Lotos Trefl Gdańsk

Career as coach

As a coach, he won eight medals - bronze at Olympics 2000, gold medals of European Championship 1999, 2003, silver from 2001 and medals of World League (two gold - 1999, 2000, silver - 2001 and bronze - 2003) with Italy, gold medal of European Championship 2007 with Spain and four medals with Poland (gold medal of World League 2012, silver medal of World Cup 2011 and two bronze medals of World League 2011, European Championship 2011).

On June 5, 2014 was announced, that Anastasi will be a new coach of Polish club - Lotos Trefl Gdańsk in season 2014/2015. His club won 19, lost 7 matches in regular season of 2014–15 PlusLiga and advanced to the Polish Cup final four. Because of good results, he signed new two-year contract with club from Gdańsk on February 23, 2015.
