Ah Xian

Ah Xian (Born 1960 in Beijing) is a Chinese born artist based in Sydney, Australia

Ah Xian was a practising artist in China throughout the 1980s. He sought political asylum in Australia following the events of Tiananmen Square in 1989 and moved to Sydney in 1996 and became a house painter while waiting for full residency in Australia. he later was given the title of artist in residency in 1997. He started work on porcelain casting in the 1990s, and produced the China China and Human Human series of busts and figures.
