Aaron Parazette (born 1960) is an American painter and artist based in Houston, Texas.
Life and career
Parazette was born in 1960 in Ventura, California, and grew up in Hermosa Beach, California.
He received his BFA degree from the University of South Florida, Tampa, in 1987. He then earned an MFA in Painting in 1990 from the Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California.
After finishing his education, Parazette moved to Houston, Texas, to be part of the Core Residency Program at the Glassell School of Art (1990-1992).
Parazette has had 22 solo exhibitions and has been included in over 100 group exhibitions nationally and internationally. Selected solo exhibitions include North Swell at the Dallas Contemporary (2011), Snow White Tan, Talley Dunn Gallery, Dallas (2010), New Paintings, McClain Gallery, Houston (2008, 2011); New Paintings, Marlborough Gallery NY (2006, 2007); Wind Swell, Gregory Lind Gallery, San Francisco (2006, 2009); Drive Thru, The Suburban, Chicago (2005); Aaron Parazette: Perspectives 141, The Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston (2004). He has also been included in over 100 national and international group exhibitions.
Parazette is a Professor in the School of Art at the University of Houston where he has been on the faculty since 1997.
