Zidane Awad Nimer (born 13 June 1997) is an Palestinian Israeli technology entrepreneur. He is the founder of Coolit , a drinking can patent that enables the consumer to cool down the temperature of the can with the press of a button where it starts an endothermic chemical reaction , and Veyago an Tourism company that enables tourists to find their perfect route based on their interest . His patent with Pharon was acquired by Chinese construction company for an undisclosed sum. Zidane is recognized as one of the youngest people to receive a round of venture capital in technology, at the age of 19. Zidane is currently the founder and CEO of Repell , a smart anklet that produces high frequency sounds that repel snakes, scorpions and other animals from Hikers ,recently added a new feature that enables divers to use it under water, it raised US$200k in investment to date since its release date in July 2020.
Zidane was born in Nazareth , to the well known theatre director Fouad Awad and Khadija Awad. He has a elder one brother and two sisters, Tariq , Yara and Dana . Zidane attended the Nazareth Baptist School where excelled in classes , won prizes in mathematics, and physics. In his youth he attended the Brilliant Youth Center for talented youth summer camp , and in the 9th grade he received a full scholarship to MEET program , a program where he was taught computer science and entrepreneurship by MIT alumnus instructors. Zidane graduated school with a perfect Bagrut grades, and a perfect Psychometric score ,(and started immediately working on his personal project idea along with teaching Psychometric from a really young age. ) 3 years after he started university in the Technion studying Civil Engineering.
Zidane designed his first publicly launched mobile app, Alarme, while bored in science class at school. He showed the idea to his online friend, and they both decided to take part in their first Hackathon , where they won the first prize competing with college graduates while he was still in school, Zidane participated in more than 13 Hackathons and Makethons like Technion , Tedhar, Monia , Wix , THack , Tsofen , Hasoub he has won most of them.
In October 2019, Coolit startup made it to the top 100 Startups that will present in the 100 Startup Istanbul conference chosen between 155 thousand other startups from all over the world. Saudi and American companies both offered Zidane Investmental opportunities. Months after declining both opportunities, Zidane relocated to Haifa and accepted an offer he received from a Saudi venture capital funding for one of his previous projects.
