Biography
Yashavant Sardeshpande (Kannada: ಯಶವಂತ್ ಸರದೇಶ್ಪಾಂಡೆ) is a popular theatre actor, director, playwright, and conducts Kannada plays under the name of his troupe Guru Samsthe, Hubli and Gurubala Entertainers, Bangalore across the State of Karnataka, various parts of India and the world. Sardeshpande was the scriptwriter for Kamal Hassan's dialogues in the North-Karnataka Kannada dialect in the Kannada feature film Rama Shama Bama. He has also acted in many Kannada tele-serials and Kannada films, including Amruthadhare. He played the key role in organising Amerikannadotsava and Bahrain Kannadotsava.

A popular theatre personality, most of Sirdeshpande's plays have run for over 500 shows, and include the Kannada plays All The Best, Rashichakra, Olave jeevana Shakshatkara, Neenaanaadre Naaneenena, Sahi Ri Sahi,Ondata Bhatraddu,Andhayuga, Sahebaru Baruttare,Miss Point,Dil Mange Moreand Hingadre Dot Comedy.
Sirdeshpande has used his plays for propagating the Bharatiya Janata Party election campaign and manifesto in Karnataka during the State elections. and also recently during the 2008 State Elections.
Cinemas
Sirdeshpande has also directed and produced a movie called Idea Madyara and has also contributed to films like Rama Shama Bhama, Matha,Jootatata,Dhimaku,Shri Danammadevi,Student,Tutturi and Atithi by writing their scripts. He was also the associate director of Atithi. He has also worked for cinemas in different languages such as Shaadi ke After Effects in Hindi and On Duty Chovvistaas in Marathi.
Sirdeshpande is currently based in Bangalore, Karnataka, busy with his latest project—producing a Kannada feature film Haadu Hakki Haadu
