Biography
Tan Sri Yaacob bin Abdul Latiff (born 1 February 1918, – date of death unknown) was the second Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia since it was officially conferred the status of the city on 1 February 1972. He served for a period of 10 years. On 1 February 1983, he was succeeded by Elyas Omar.
His son, Ibrahim Yaakob is the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidates for Setiawangsa's parliamentary constituency during the 2008 General Elections in Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory. He lost to the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Zulhasnan Rafique in the elections.
