Biography
Wong Shoon Keat (born 1957) was a badminton player from Singapore. He won Singapore's first ever badminton gold from the 1983 SEA Games and to date, is Singapore’s only title winner from the badminton men’s singles event. That year, he pulled off an upset over reigning world champion Icuk Sugiarto of Indonesia, and beat another Indonesian star, Hastomo Arbi in the final. His son, Derek Wong, is currently Singapore’s top male shuttler.
