William Smith Peck Sr. (1873–1946) was an American businessman and politician from Sicily Island, Louisiana.
Early life
William Smith Peck was born in 1873 on Sicily Island, Louisiana, to William Smith Peck (1842–1910) and Florence Celeste Lovelace Peck (1845–1881). He had three siblings—Laura Kirkland Peck (1869–1873), John Lovelace Peck (1871–1872), and Henry Clarendon Peck (1876–1899).
Career
From 1920–1928, Peck served as a Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from Sicily Island, Louisiana.
Personal life
Peck was married to Estelle Woodward Peck (1893–1983). They had two children—William Smith Peck Jr. (1916–1987) and Barbara Jane Peck Gilbert (1922–1985).
His son, William Smith Peck Jr., was also a politician who served as a Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1956–1964, during the administrations of Governors Earl Kemp Long and Jimmie Davis. His daughter, Barbara, was married to J. C. "Sonny" Gilbert, also a politician from Sicily Island.
