Biography
William Fleming Hoggan Jarrett (1928–2011) was a British pathologist.
Life
He was born on 2 January 1928 in Glasgow. He studied at Lenzie Academy, Glasgow, and Glasgow Veterinary College.
He taught at the University of Glasgow. In 1964, he discovered the retrovirus that causes leukemia and lymphoma in cats.
He was made a Fellow the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 1965, and the Royal Society in 1980.
He died on 27 August 2011.
Family
On 27 December 1952, he married Anna Fraser Sharp; they had two daughters.
