Biography
William Batt (1840–1910) was a Belfast-based architect born in Derry, noted for designing many public buildings in the province, amongst them a number of Orange Halls. He worked for the firm Boyd & Batt. William Batt joined masonic lodge No. 69 in Derry in October 1862. Amongst his designs are the Orange Hall in Portaferry, Co. Down, the front gate lodge for Botanic Gardens in Belfast.
He died in 1910 and is buried in Balmoral Cemetery in Belfast.
