Biography
Wei Yan is an American scientist and academic. He is a University of Nevada Reno Foundation Professor in the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology, University of Nevada School of Medicine. Dr Yan has published >100 research articles, reviews and book chapters.
Education
Wei received his MD at China Medical University in Shenyang, China in 1990. He then obtained his PhD from the University of Turku, Finland in 2000, and took a postdoctoral position at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas until 2004. Dr. Wei Yan specializes in genetic and epigenetic control of gametogenesis and gamete contribution to preimplantation development and health in adulthood.
Academic Positions
He has held a variety of academic posts after his postdoctoral position in Houston, including a tenure at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and a laboratory directorship at the Andrology lab of Northern Nevada Women's Health Specialists.
