Biography
Vera Aleksàndrovna Davídova, en rus: Ве́ра Алекса́ндровна Давы́дова, (Nijni Nóvgorod, Rússia, 30 de setembre de 1906 - Tbilissi (Geòrgia), 19 de febrer de 1993), fou una mezzosoprano russa.
Va ser una de les interpretes soviètiques més aplaudides. Dotada d'una veu molt ben timbrada i potent, fou una de les artistes de major èxit en el Teatre Bolxoi de Moscou des de 1932. Intèrpret molt requerida de les òperes russes i italianes, especialment de Verdi, se la recorda sobre tot per la seva gran interpretació escènica i vocal del personatge d'Azucena a Il trovatore. Va cantar en els principals teatres soviètics i realitzà diverses gires pels països balcànics, Europa septentrional i Iran. De 1947 a 1950 fou diputada del Soviet Suprem.
