Vanessa Rubio is an American actress and film director. She played “Carmen Díaz” on the television series Cobra Kai and also had an appearance in the 2016 film How to Be a Single.
Career
Rubio was born in New Jersey, the daughter of Colombian parents. In the late 2000s she acted in some short films and video clips, also making small appearances in the early 2010s in television series such as Celebrity Ghost Stories (2012), Deception and Golden Boy (2013). In 2015 she played the role of Anna in the movie The Girl Is in Trouble and a year later she played David's wife in Christian Ditter's romantic comedy How to Be a Single. That same year, she played the role of Bella in The Hudson Tribes.
After appearing in the television series Gone and Master of None, Rubio was chosen in 2018 to play the role of Carmen Díaz, love interest of Johnny Lawrence in the television series Cobra Kai, renewing for a second season broadcast in 2019. That same year she appeared in two feature films, Blood Bound in the role of Elicia and The System in the role of the Tuscany officer. In 2010 she made her directorial debut with the short film Liv & Josh, which she was also in charge of writing and producing.
