Biography
Valentin Stănescu (20 November 1922 – 4 April 1994) was a Romanian football manager who coached Bucharest city rivals Steaua, Rapid and Dinamo Bucharest.
Manager career
- 1959–1963: Metalul Târgovişte (promotion to first league)
- 1963–1968: CFR Bucureşti (two Balkans Cup, one champion title)
- 1968–1971: Steagul Roşu Braşov (promotion to first league)
- 1976–1978: Petrolul Ploieşti (promotion to first league)
- 1979–1980: Universitatea Craiova (one champion title)
- 1980–1981: Romania national football team (one Balkan Cup, defeated England at Bucharest)
- 1981–1982: Dinamo Bucureşti (one champion title)
- 1982–1984: Rapid Bucureşti (promotion to first league, ending the club's darkest era)
