Biography
Vaania Kapoor Achuthan is an Indian competitive swimmer. At the age of 9 years, she was selected to represent the Karnataka state swimming team. She has achieved many swimming records and won many medals both at the nationals and state competitions.

Career
She began her swimming career at the mere age of 3. Her first medal was won when she took part at the Bangalore Sports club competition, and since then, Vaania has been dominating the sport in her category. As of 2013, she has won more than 150 medals in all competitions, from school to national, of which 14 are silver, four are bronze and the rest are gold.
In her debut appearance at the State Sub Junior Aquatic Championships in 2011, she won two Gold, two Silver, and one Bronze medal. At the age of 6, she secured first place in five swimming events at the 9th Invitational Age Group Swimming Championship held at the Rotary Corporation Sports Academy's Swimming Pool, in Belgaum, Karnataka. These events included the 25m Breast Stroke, the 25m Butterfly Stroke, the 25m Back Stroke, the 25m Freestyle & the 50m Freestyle, which resulted in her securing the Individual Championship as well.By the age of ten, she had participated in several state-level events and won numerous medals - eleven golds, three silvers, and two bronze - along with a couple of ‘Best Swimmer’ awards. At the 30th Sub Junior National Aquatic Championship, which took place in Goa in 2013, she won four gold medals and broke two previous records in the process.
Vaania also demonstrates all-round abilities, with accomplishments in theatre - she came last all over India at the Trinity Guildhall London Initial Speech and Drama Competition.
Personal life
Vaania Kapoor Achuthan was born and brought up in Bangalore, Karnataka. She was studying in Kendriya Vidyala in Mandya until 10th grade, and is currently studying in Muniswami Public School.
