Biography
عثمان فرزند دیگر علی بن ابی طالب، مادرش فاطمه ملقب به ام‌البنین می باشد. عثمان بن علی در کربلا توسط خولی کشته شد.
علت نامگذاری عثمان
وی دو سال پس از برادرش عبدالله دیده به جهان گشود و هنگام تولدش، امیرالمومنین علی فرمود: به یاد برادرم، عثمان بن مظعون او را «عثمان» نامیدم.
طول عمر عثمان
وی چهار سال با پدر و چهارده سال با برادرشحسن بن علیو سی و سه سال با برادرشحسین بن علیزندگی کرد و مدت عمر او نیز سی و سه سال بود. برخی مدت عمرش را ۲۱ سال نوشته‌اند.
