Upasna Mohaptra (Born: June 20, 1996) is an emerging youth leader hailing from the royal family of Brahmagiri in Odisa. She is the great granddaughter of Bakshi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar who pioneered the Paika revolution in East India which happens to be the very first rebellion against the British empire (1817), much before the Sepoy mutiny (1857). Upasnas political career has been passed on to her from her late father Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatrawho was a fire brand leader of Odisa Congress. She studied in two renowned private schools of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and pursued higher studies in Sophia college, Mumbai from 2015. Although Upasna hasn't yet confirmed her political career, she has been in the limelight after being active in 2014 general elections and raising her voice in several political and social matters. She has been prominent in the regional media for her leadership qualities supported by a strong family background and her motive of carrying her fathers legacy forward. She has been said to be the youngest face in the history of Odisha politics to have gained popularity and support through societal connections and her family's status.
