Biography
Tung Chan (born 1952) is a Hong Kong-born Canadian philanthropist, columnist and businessman. He was the chief executive of S.U.C.C.E.S.S.. and a Vancouver city councillor from 1990 to 1993.
Biography
Chan was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to Canada in 1974 and eventually settled in Vancouver. In Hong Kong, he worked as a stockbroker and floor trader and his personal assets were wiped out by a stock market crash in 1973. He worked as a waiter at the Terminal City Club in Downtown, Vancouver. He received a B.A. in sociology from the University of British Columbia, and joined TD Bank Financial Group in 1978 and was district VP in all 17 TD Canada Trust branches. He also worked as a bartender, a radio program producer.
In his spare time, Chan is an avid reader, swimmer, and traveller. Chan holds a General Management Diploma from the Institute of Canadian Bankers.
