Biography
Tristan McConnell is a freelance journalist based in Kenya. He is a correspondent for AFP, Monocle, and The Economist.
Career
He has reported from more than 20 countries, including Somalia, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Uganda. He was a finalist for the Kurt Schork Memorial Award in 2007, 2014 and 2015. He has also been short-listed for the One World Media Awards.
His articles and essays have appeared in Columbia Journalism Review, New York, and Foreign Policy.
