Biography
Tony Migliozzi is an American long-distance runner.
Early life, education, and college athletics
Migliozzi was born on 21 June 1989, in North Canton, Ohio. He attended St. Thomas Aquinas HS, Louisville, Ohio.
At the school, he was trained by Matthew Reneker. He won two OHSAA cross country state titles at the school.
Later, he attended Malone University in Canton, Ohio, where he was trained by two-time Olympic distance coach, Jack Hazen. In 2011, at Malone University he was an NAIA runner-up in the marathon.
In February 2013, he won NCAA D-II Team Challenge, with finishing time of 14:46.42.
Professional career
Migliozzi made his ultramarathon debut at IAU 50K World Championships in Doha, Qatar. He won individual gold with a 2:52:08 finishing time, while the Team USA men won team silver. Camille Herron, female American marathon runner, won the women’s IAU 50K World Championships, with 3:20:58 finishing time.
Migliozzi holds the second fastest time ever in the indoor marathon. In 2016, he was named USATF Ultra Runner of the Year.
He qualified for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials in the marathon.
