Biography
Tomohiro Hatta (born 1986 in Sapporo, Japan) started his musical studies at the age of five with Prof. M. Endo. Later on, in 1997, he entered the class of the well-known pedagogue N. Miyazawa at the Conservatoire of Sapporo. During this period Tomohiro Haatta was severally awarded in national competitions.
After arriving in Paris, in 2005, Tomohiro Hatta continued his musical studies at École Normale de Musique Paris Alfred Cortot, where he got the Diplôme d’Exécution (à l’unanimité du juri) and the Diplôme Supérieur d’Éxecution. As student he was honored by École Normale de Musique Paris Alfred Cortot Scolarship and Fuji Television Scholarship. During his studies, he played for Paul Badura-Skoda, Piotr Paleczny, Serei Markarov, Caio Pagano, among others.
Among others prizes, Tomohiro Hatta won the 2nd Prize at Alexander Scriabin Piano Competition, 3rd Prize at Rudolf Firkusny International Piano Competition, Smetana Prize, Russe Embassy Prize, Frensh Embassy Prize, Son Altesse Royale la Princesse Lalla Meryem International Piano Competition, among others. He was also semi-finalist of Concurso Internacional de Música do Porto, as the youngest candidate, and at the Long-Thibaud International Piano Competition. Recently, on November 2013 Tomohiro Hatta won the third prize at the Istanbul International Piano COmpetition.
In this last years Tomohiro Hatta had severally performed in Festivals such as "25éme Festival Chopin", XI and XII Edition of "Carré d'Arts Jeunes Talents", "Animato Concerts", among others. At the age of 16 he played with St. Petersburg Klassica Orchestra, Mézin Academie Orchestra, among others. For the 150th anniversary of Japan-France Relations, Tomohiro Hatta gave a recital at Franco-Japanese Cultural Center.
An active pianist, Tomohiro Hatta played at various well-known music halls, such as Auditorium Dvorak Rudolfinum (Prague), Salle Pleyel, Salle Cortot, Hotel d'Invalides, Château de Marsalin, Salle Marcel Dupre, among others. In 2009 he recorded a CD with Christophe Boulier (violinist winner of Long-Thibaud Competition).
For the 200th Anniversary Celebration, Tomohiro Hatta played live for RDP-Antena2 and gave many recitals in France and Japan. Recently he played at "Bon Anniversair Monsieur Chopin", at Salle Pleyel/Paris, transmitted by France Television 3, with well-known pianists such as Jean-Marc Luisada, Anne Queffélec, Yves Henry, Bruno Rigutto, among others.
Under Portuguese Embassy, Air France, Instituto Camões cooperation, among others, Tomohiro Hatta will play Portuguese music in Portugal, France and Japan. He gave recently a recital at Portuguese Embassy in Paris.
At the moment he is finishing his musical studies with the acclaimed French pianist Billy Eidi at the CRR de Paris.
