Tejai Moore (born 20 July 1986) is an American neo-soul and R&B singer/ songwriter. He is a former member of Texas-based hip-hop group GS Boyz.
Early life
Tejai Moore was born Tony Edmond Jr. on 20 July 1986 in Miami, Florida. He was raised in multiple places, including Germany where he did his schooling. Moore was interested in music from an early age as he was exposed to a variety of music styles growing up in different places.
Career
Tony Edmond Jr. cites his musical inspirations as the 60s and 70s R&B artists Smokey Robinson and Aretha Franklin, and contemporary artists such as Luther Vandross and R. Kelly.
He started off in the music industry under the stage name "Lil. T" in 2002 in Germany. Later, he switched his name to T. Plezya. While in Germany, he began performing with his musical partner BamaBoy (Chivas Kimber) and in 2007, the two had the opportunity to share the stage with former group members of B2k and Bad Boy Records Recording artist Loon, and Migos among others.
In 2007, Tony relocated back to America to pursue his musical career. By the end of 2008, he was signed under the GS Boyz, famous for their hit songs "Stanky Legg" (2008) & "Booty Dew" (2009.) The group at the time was signed to Yung Joc's Swagg Team label imprint (under Bad Boy Records). The GS Boyz disbanded and Tony went on to perform solo and as a songwriter-for-hire. He wrote the lyrics for 2013 Curtis Moore single "Lipstick" before releasing his own debut EP, Drums & Heartbeats.
In November 2013, he changed to his current stage name, Tejai Moore. Over the years, he has performed/opened along-side Jagged Edge, B.o.B, Machine Gun Kelly, Swazy Baby, Sean Kingston, Trina, Young Dro, Travis Porter, Roscoe Dash, Unk, J-Dash, Verse Simmonds, GS Boyz, his group mates of Cloud Nein & More.
