Surekha Vani

Surekha Vani an Indian comedian and supporting actress who performed in the Telugu language as well as in the Tamil industry. As of june 2019, she has acted in 63 films.

During her school days, Vani participated in various cultural programs. When she was in the 8th grade, she anchored children's programs on local cable TV in Vijayawada. After Intermediate, she took up anchoring as a profession.

Vani hosted shows such as Maa Talkies and Heart Beat with her husband on MAA TV. She appeared in Moguds Pellams, also directed by her husband.

She married Suresh Teja and has a daughter. Suresh Teja was a well-known TV director, who made several popular soaps and shows. He has also worked as a writer for TV serials. On 6 May, 2019, Suresh Teja died in a hospital in Hyderabad due to prolonged illness. Surekha Vani had reduced her workload last year but never spoke about her husband's illness. The pair met years ago when she was just starting her career as an anchor. Teja gave her an opportunity to host a few TV shows likeMoguds Pellams and Heartbeat. They started off as friends and eventually, they got hitched and had a baby girl.
