Biography
Stu Williamson (born 5 August 1956, Oadby, Leicestershire, England). From 1978 to 1980, Stu was drummer for the Scottish pop rock group The Marmalade, He then directed his artistic talents towards photography and has in recent years achieved worldwide acclaim for his work.
Photography
Stu Williamson specializes in monochrome photography and Fine Art portraiture influenced by European Mediaeval Artists. He is recognized as a leading architectural photographer, gaining commissions in Dubai from Giorgio Armani at the Burj Khalifa and the Jumeriah Group’s Burj Al Arab. Stu Williamson has a long list of world class names alongside whom he continues to work.
Awards
Stu Williamson has won many photographic awards in Europe which have included Black and White Photographer of the Year, Fine Art Photographer of the Year and Architectural Photographer of the Year 2010/11 for his shot of the Burj Khalifa. He is also the inventor of the world famous Triflector.
Most recently in 2016, he won the UK 2016/2017 Master Photographer award.
Stu Williamson Photography
In 2006 Stu Williamson set up Stu Williamson Photography in Dubai. The photography studio has grown rapidly in the past few years and is now regarded as one of the largest photographic companies in Dubai.
Personal life
In 2013 he moved back to the UK, and currently has a studio in Kibworth, Leicestershire.
