Biography
Stéphane Tortajada is Group Head of Finance & Investments of Électricité de France (EDF), a position he holds since 2010.
In this role, he is mainly responsible for Treasury, Investments of the Group, Structured/Project Financing and M&A for the large deals, EDF Insurances as well asEDF’s Asset Management Division including the pension and the nuclear decommissioning funds with an AUM of c. €45Bn and rating agency relationship management.
Having under his responsibility EDF’s treasury financing, Tortajada was in charge of issuing of more than 30 bn€ of bonds, including 10bn€ of hybrid securities and 2bn€ of Century bonds.
Stéphane Tortajada serves as Chairman at EDF Investment Group. He is also a board member of EDF Development and Environment, the holding which owns EDF Energies Nouvelles and member of EDF Group Credit Committee.
Biography
Stéphane Tortajada started his career as an investment banker at HSBC in 1997. In 2000 he joined Lazard M&A Division, where he became Executive Director in 2005.
From 2008 to 2010, Tortajada served as Managing Director of Casino Développement, and was in charge of international development and real estate at Casino Group worldwide. His responsibilities were covering the development of the local platforms and ofinternational real estate assets with a total portfolio value of 4 bn€. During this period, Stéphane Tortajada was also as a board member of the listed Thai Big C and a member of the Supervisory Board of DTC Finance.
Stephane Tortajada is an engineering graduate from Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and holds a cum laude master's degree in finance from Sciences Po Paris. He is also a member of the French Society of Financial Analysts.
