Biography

Stacey Adams (born June 17, 1966) is an American media executive, and actress active in the late 1980s.

Early life and education

Stacey Adams was born on June 17, 1966, to actor Don Adams (of Get Smart fame) and dancer Dorothy Bracken. She comes from a family rooted in the show business. Through her father's first marriage with Adelaide Efantis Adams, she is the half-sister of casting director/actress Cecily Adams. She also happens to be the niece of actor Dick Yarmy and actress Alice Borden and cousin of director Claudia Yarmy.

Adams attended the University of Southern California from where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film/Television.

Career

Acting

Stacey Adams made her acting debut in 1986, with a minor role in the "Edna's Phantom Romance" episode of the TV series Check It Out.

The following year saw her feature film debut in the role of "Tina" in Mark Sobel's action/drama Sweet Revenge, starring Nancy AllenTed Shackelford, and Martin Landau. She also served as the casting director for the film, alongside her half-sister Cecily Adams. The same year, she was seen as "Tracey" in director Jag Mundhra's horror film Open House, starring Joseph Bottoms and Adrienne Barbeau.

In 1989, she was seen in a minor role in Get Smart, Again!, starring her father Don Adams and Barbara Feldon.

Adams was last seen on the silver screen in 1991, portraying the character of "Yvonne Gordon" in "Belly of the Beast" episode of the TV series Gabriel's Fire.

Media executive

After retiring from acting, Adams worked as an executive assistant to actor/director/producer to Ken Olin.

In 2003, she joined Paramount Television as their Vice President, Drama Development, where she covered a wide range of television series including Criminal Minds, Medium, Numb3rs, and Ghost Whisperer. Paramount was acquired by CBS Corporation in 2006 and she continued to work with CBS as their Vice President, Current Programming until 2015, overseeing the creative direction of such television comedy and drama series as CSICSI: Miami, Numbers, Medium, and Big Bang Theory.

In April 2018, she became the Vice President, Current Programming for ABC Entertainment. At ABC, she covers Grey’s Anatomy, Station 19, Bless the Mess, and A Million Little Things. 

Personal life

Adams is married to her husband Pascal Van Dooren since 20 May 2000; the couple has 2 children.
