Sophie Howell (born January 30, 1990) is an American screen actress.
Background and Education
Sophie was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to Laura Mauffray and John Howell. She grew up splitting her time between North Carolina and New Orleans, Louisiana. She received a B.A. in Theatre with a concentration in Performance from Louisiana State University.
Acting
Upon graduating from LSU, Sophie returned to New Orleans where she began working various crew jobs in the film industry while pursuing acting. She began as a Still Photographer for the short documentary film Church in Black. For several years she continued working as a still photographer for various independent short films. During this time Howell also worked as a production assistant and most notably as an extras casting assistant on Jurassic World. After several years of working odd crew jobs while acting in the occasional short film, Sophie set aside her crew work and dedicated everything to pursuing acting.
In December 2016 she signed with Trinity Talent Agency and began a professional acting career. Her first paid acting gig came in the form of a commercial for United Way and was immediately followed by another commercial and two feature films within the same two months. Sophie will be starring in Trailer Park Shark on the SyFy Channel and continues to work as an actor based out of New Orleans.
