Sonora Rose Cooper

Sonora Rose Cooper (born 14 December 1992) is an American professional makeup artist and dance teacher based in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of American rock star, Alice Cooper, and sister of singer/actress, Calico Cooper.

Sonora was born on 14 December 1992 in Phoenix, Arizona to Sheryl Goddard and Alice Cooper. Youngest of the 3 children, she has an elder brother, Dashiell Cooper (rock musician and interior designer, born 1985) and an elder sister, Calico Cooper (actress/singer, born 1981.)

She attended Arcadia High School in Phoenix, Arizona, and was also home-schooled in the tour bus when she travelled for her father's rock tours.

Dancing

Following the footsteps of her mother, Sheryl, who was a professional choreographer, Sonora took dancing lessons in Phoenix. She also studied hip-hop from Phoenix's famous "Footklan break dancing crew."

Later, Sonora became a "hip hop" dance teacher, working at the "Dance Fusion" dance school in Phoenix, where her mother also worked for a few years. She has also taught hip hop for the Salvation Army program, and has taught master classes at the family's Solid Rock Foundation. In addition, since early 2010s, Sonora, Calico, and Sheryl have been running annual dance workshops on Maui, Hawaii.

Make-up

Sonora studied make-up at the Make-Up Designory in Burbank, California, and is now a professional make-up/special-effects artist.

She had become fascinated with make-up artistry when she did a rock tour with her father's band. As part of the show, she had to play three different characters with different make-ups every night. During the tour, she learned to do make-up for the different looks on her own, and eventually became good at it. Encouraged, she decided to take up make-up as her profession and enrolled with the Make-Up Designory in Burbank.

Over the years, she has done makeup for various models, commercials, and films. In 2018, she worked as a makeup artist for the Jesse Kove and Martin Kove-starrer film, Show No Mercy. Currently, she is working as the makeup/special-effects artist for television series, The Normal Ones, which has her sister, Calico Cooper, in the lead role.

Sonora married Diego Diaz on September 29, 2018 in Kihei, Hawaii. The two had met at a friend's house while attending high school in Phoenix. Diego is an audio engineer, and was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. Her sister, Calico Cooper, was one of the bridesmaids.
