Biography

Sir Edward Grogan, 1st Baronet (5 November 1802 – 26 January 1891) was an Irish Conservative Party politician.

Educated at Winchester College and Trinity College Dublin, Grogan matriculated with a M.A. degree. He was called to the bar in 1840. He was made a baronet on 23 April 1859, of Moyvore, County Westmeath.

He was elected as Member of Parliament (MP) for Dublin City at the 1841 general election, and held the seat until the 1865 general election.

In 1867 he married Catherine Charlotte McMahon. In January 1891 he fell from the upstairs window of his home in Dundrum and suffered severe injuries, dying two weeks later.

He was succeeded in the title by his son Edward (1873–1927).
