Quick Facts
Biography
Simon Garlick (born 10 April 1975) is a former Australian rules footballer who played between 1994 and 2004. He spent his first four years of league football with the Sydney Swans, before moving over to the Western Bulldogs. He played over 100 games for the Bulldogs, and, after announcing his retirement during the 2004 season, he was awarded a farewell game in Round 21.
In December, 2010, Garlick was appointed CEO of the Western Bulldogs. During his time as CEO the Western Bulldogs suffered from a decline in results on the field, and lost key players and draft picks to expansion clubs Gold Coast and Greater Western Sydney. He resigned from this role on 19 January 2015, continuing a wretched run for the club which included the resignation of former coach Brendan McCartney and the departure of former captain Ryan Griffen to Greater Western Sydney.
