Biography
The Sheriff of Haddington, was historically the royal official responsible for enforcing law and order in Haddington, Scotland.
The sheriffdom of Haddington was created in the 12th century. The position became the Sheriff of Haddington & Berwick in 1856 It was renamed the Sheriff of Midlothian and Haddington in 1872. The sheriffdom was renamed the Sheriff of The Lothians in 1881 and the Sheriff of The Lothians and Peebles in 1883.
