Biography
Sharjeel Khan (Urdu: شرجیل خان (born 14 August 1989) in Hyderabad, Sindh) is cricketer from Pakistan. He is an attacking opening batsman. He was part of the bronze medal winning team at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China. He made his T20I debut for Pakistan on 8 December 2013 against Afghanistan and made his One Day International debut for Pakistan on 18 December 2013 against Sri Lanka. In his debut ODI match he played very good knock of 61 runs from 61 balls. He was selected in the Pakistan squad for the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 where he was the highest run scorer for his team.
Biography
Sharjeel Khan belongs to the [Bajkani family of hephthani from Hyderabad. His hometown is Kandhkot, Sindh, Pakistan.
Career
Sharjeel Khan made his first-class debut in 2009. He scored 1 run in the first inning. During that season, he ended up with around 8 runs. In his T20 games he made two T20 centuries. He was called up for the first time for Pakistan during Sri Lanka's tour of the UAE. While in his 2nd international in a T20I against Sri Lanka at Dubai, Sharjeel made a promising 34 and suggested he could fix Pakistan's top order conundrum. This was cemented even more in only his 3rd game, when he blasted a swashbuckling 50 off 25 balls against Sri Lanka. Today, Sharjeel has become a regular in the Pakistan limited overs teams ever since his successful PSL in February 2016 where he made 299 runs (3rd most) at 29.95. He also hit the most sixes in the inaugural PSL (19) and scored the first century for the PSL. In September 2016, Sharjeel earned a maiden test call up against New Zealand after impressing in the limited overs against England and West Indies.
2016 Pakistan Super League
Khan was part of Islamabad United's squad he became the first player in history of Pakistan Super League who scored a century against possibly best bowling line-up of inaugural PSL Peshawar Zalmi.He scored 117 from 62 in Qualifier 3 and took his team in the final where they faced Quetta Gladiators and Won the tournament by 6 wickets.He was team's best player in the whole tournament and performed well throu8rghout the tournament with (300) Runs and with an excellent strike-rate of 149.25.He finished the tournament as third leading run scorer behind Lahore Qalandars's Umar Akmal and Karachi Kings's Ravi Bopara respectively.
Ireland (2016)
He scored his maiden century against Ireland at Malahide on 18 August 2016. His fifty came from 34 deliveries and century from 61 deliveries with the strike rate of 176.74. This century stands as the third highest ODI century by a Pakistani in ODIs after Saeed Anwar (194) and Imran Nazir (160). His 150 also stands as the third fastest of all time after AB de Villiers and Shane Watson.
Test career
Sharjeel got his first Test call-up for Pakistan's 2016-17 series to New Zealand. He made his Test debut against Australia in the 3rd Test at Sydney with Hilton Cartwright on 3 January 2017.
