Shamal George (born 6 January 1998) is an English professional footballer who plays for Carlisle United, on loan from Liverpool, as a goalkeeper.
Club career
Liverpool
George joined Liverpool in 2009 having played for local Wallasey team Manor FC. Having played for various youth teams at the club, he joined Liverpool's first team in the summer of 2016 on the pre-season tour of the USA. During the same pre-season he appeared for the team as as a make-shift striker in a match against Huddersfield Town, after Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has used all the remaining substitutes.
In the summer of 2017 he signed a new contract with Liverpool.
Carlisle United (loan)
He then immediately joined Carlisle United on loan to gain first-team experience. He made his professional debut on 29 August 2017 in a EFL Trophy match and made his Football League debut for the club on 12 September in a match against Coventry City.
