Biography

Shafiq Ullah (Bengali: শফিক উল্লাহ) is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the former Member of Parliament of Noakhali-12.

Career

Ullah was elected to parliament from Noakhali-12 as a Bangladesh Nationalist Party candidate in 1979.

Political life

Shafiq Ullah was the central leader of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. On 6 January 1964, the Ayub government declared Jamaat-e-Islami illegal. A total of 60 top leaders including Ameer Jamaat were arrested. One of the prisoners was Master Shafiqullah. All were released on 9 October of the same year. He was elected as a member of parliament from the then Noakhali-12 Lakshmipur-3 constituency as a candidate of the Islamic Democratic League for Jamaat-e-Islami in the second parliamentary election of 1979.In the fifth national parliamentary election of 1991, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami As a candidate, he was defeated from Lakshmipur-3 seat.During his career, he was the head teacher of Lakshmipur Samad Academy, a traditional and famous educational institution of Laxmipur district. Social Contribution: He established Darul Aman Academy Madrasah and Darul Aman Orphanage in front of his house in 1982. Madrasas are taught up to Alim class. He is the father of the famous Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Manwar.
