Sergei Tochitsky (born September 8, 1962) is a Belarussian research scientist at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Early life
Sergei Tochitsky was born in 1962 in Minsk, Belarus. He obtained both Master and Bachelor of Science degrees in optical engineering from the Byelorussian Polytechnic Academy in 1985 and in 1992 got a Ph.D. in laser physics from the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. From 1993 to 1994 he was a postdoc at the National Tsing Hua University and in 1996 became a visiting professor at the Brookhaven National Laboratory. Since that year and until 1997 Sergei was the Royal Society guest researcher and worked at the Cavendish Laboratory of the University of Cambridge. Between 1998 and 2000 he was a postdoc at the University of California, Los Angeles where since 2000 he holds a research scientist position.
