Biography

Sean O'Neill (born 20 January 1981) is a Northern Irish former professional snooker player. After winning every major snooker tournament in Northern Ireland, and reaching No 2 in the world junior circuit rankings, O’Neill retired at the age of 23 and became an entrepreneur, running a number of businesses in property management, high street retail and life-coaching, and is now an investor over many sectors and businesses.

Early years

Sean O’Neill was born in Daisy Hill in Newry, Northern Ireland, the only son of Rory O’Neill and Rosemary Rooney. He was raised on a family farm by his grandmother.

At the age of 11, O’Neill entered his first business by selling fireworks. From an initial capital of £40, O’Neill successfully made £2000 in the first 2 months. He continued growing his business and made a fortune by the age of 14 and decided to leave school.

O’Neill's love of snooker started to develop after his father bought him his first snooker table at the age of 4.

At the age of 16 he had amassed a small fortune by winning two national snooker titles and being chosen to play for his country. After that O'Neill had the tough decision to either follow the business life or follow his love for snooker. O'Neill decided to focus on a path into professional snooker, and became one of the most well-known amateur snooker players in the world, winning major junior tournaments domestically, regionally, and worldwide.

In 2001, when he was ranked No 2 in the world junior championships, he also won 4 ranking competitions: Fountain Classic; Northern Ireland Under 21 Championship; Northern Ireland Senior Championship; and Pontins Autumn Champion; all in the same year.

O'Neill won every junior and senior title available in Northern Ireland, and with a Republic of Ireland passport, he was accepted in the RIBSA events. He responded by winning the sixth Irish ranking event in 2003.

Post-retirement from Snooker

After all the successful years O’Neill decided to retire from professional snooker at the age of 23. He missed the business life and believed he had potential to become recognised globally for his business acumen and ability to mentor and advise others.

Business life

After his decision to return to the business world, O’Neill launched Adore Group of companies. He specialises in fundamental analysis and investing, with experience in asset allocation, investment strategy, facilities management, and property management.

Personal life

O’Neill currently resides in Liverpool, England. His hobby includes, CrossFit, Boxing, Running and Collecting supercars, owning a Rolls Royce Ghost, McLaren 650s, McLaren 650s Can Am and Porsche GT2.
