Biography

Dr Sati Shankar Singh is an agricultural scientist. He was born in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh on 9 December 1959. Currently, he is Head of Crop Production division at Indian Institute of Pulses Research, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Previously, he worked as Head of Division for Crop Research and Principal Scientist at ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna Bihar. His area of specialization is agronomy.
He started his career as Assistant Professor in Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa Bihar. He earned his PHD from NDUAT Faizabad, UP. He has served in CIMMYT India on deputation for 2 years. His area of interest is Resource Conservation Technologies, Rice-Wheat system management, Farmer Participatory Research, Livelihood improvement, Farming System, Management of flood prone & sodic land. He has worked in numerous projects involving USAID, DFID, NAIP. His current work on Integrated farming system in Eastern Region has been adopted by governments for up-scaling of agriculture technology. His current work also involves modeling performance of different crops under climate change.
He has published 70 research papers in various national and international journals. He has been awarded the ICAR best team Award in 2004 for agricultural research. He was awarded Fellow of Indian Society of Agronomy in 2010. He did his BSc Agronomy from CSAUAT Kanpur. He was awarded ICAR fellowship for Phd at NDUAT.
